Volunteer
"Volunteers Give the Time of their Lives"
Volunteers have always been a big part of what we do. We began with a group of committed volunteers,
and today we sustain our services because our community gives their time to help battered women and
their children.
How Can I Help?
In a number of ways! The three biggest are:
- CVAN's Cool Used Stuff, our Thrift Store
Volunteers help make the store happen! Have fun while helping out and working hard. Come each week or once a month. Training is required.
- Childcare
By volunteering in the evening during support group for the women, you will give that special time with the children. Come once a month or more. Training is required.
- Meal-A- Month
Be a part of preparing dinner for families - one night/every month. You or your group pick a night every month (i.e. first Monday of every month); prepare anything you like for 20 people; dessert optional ☺ / no drinks; drop off by 5:00pm hot or ready to heat in disposable pans. Call 704.788.1108 for more details and to sign up!
- Yard Work/House Maintenance
Volunteers needed throughout the year for yardwork including mowing yards and raking leaves!
For you or your group, whether one time or more. We have several houses with yards!
No training required, and we've got the basic tools.
Group looking for a Project?
If you are part of a group and are looking for a project, we have opportunities throughout the year (for example, we have
yardwork from April to October); collection drives, fundraisers and more. Click on Fun-Raising for more ideas.
